I had always wanted to visit the Waipu Pancake Rocks, so I chose the Cove Resort for its convenient location. But I was pleasantly surprised by the three large ablutions blocks on the property, which ensured hot showers, toilet, and laundry facilities were always close by. The small village of Waipu, with its variety of stores and cafes, including the Cove Cafe and restaurant, added to the charm of my stay.

The rooms at Cove Resort looked a little tired and seemed overpriced, especially considering it was Easter weekend. While I thought I had booked a 2-bedroom apartment, it turned out to be two separate rooms, not two bedrooms.

Comfortable apartments, great location to Waipu Cove beach and plenty of location attractions, eateries and things to do.

We had a fantastic time at Waipu Cove Resort, staying for a mini break. The beach access through a little gate was a major plus point, and the outdoor space was clean and inviting. The hotel facilities were great, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. The host, Diane, was incredibly accommodating and even changed our bed configuration for us. The spa was a highlight, and the location right beside the beach was perfect. a wonderful stay and we would definitely return.

Relaxing location, close to beach

Weather - and no Sky during most of the weekend, due to rain-fade. Not good enough on a rainy weekend.

As adventure travelers, we loved the close proximity to one of the best beaches in the country. The unit provided excellent cooking facilities, a barbecue, and comfortable amenities. The private courtyard and sky TV were also a great bonus.

The staff at the front desk were incredibly helpful and accommodating. They even provided a cot for my baby to sleep in.

We had a wonderful stay at the Waipu Cove Resort. The exterior may seem plain, but once inside, we were impressed by the well-fitted out rooms and attractive decor. The management went above and beyond to accommodate us, providing us with two connecting units instead of the three-bedroom we had booked. The short walk to the beautiful Waipu surf beach was a major plus. We will definitely be returning to this relaxed and friendly hotel. I highly recommend this hotel for a great stay by the beach.

Narrowness of unit. Maybe comfortable bed settees would be a better combination in the lounge of unit five. The venetian blind controls were difficult to reach. Cold water seemed to be the only option in the bathroom basin.

Great modern room, brand-new with separate bedroom. Smooth check-in, parking on-site. Very clean pool area too. Lovely and wonderful location, 10 minutes' walk to Waipu Coastal Trail.

Nothing, perfect stay.

The room was recently renovated, very clean, had a full kitchen, a separate bedroom, and the staff were very friendly and helpful; there was also a wide variety of delicious food available at the on-site beach restaurant.

I had an amazing stay close to the beach with polite and helpful staff. The room was well-equipped and spacious with beautiful decor and a comfortable bed. The hotel facilities including the pool, spa and courtyard were elegant and landscaped impeccably. The staff were very friendly and accommodating with free laundry facilities and outdoor seating areas with barbecues. This location is perfect for guests looking to bask in a tropical oasis and sample well-cooked, reasonably priced dishes in the only restaurant in the area.
